Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
This policy describes what information is handled when you read emergencyfloor.com, which publishes articles on disaster relief, charity and shelter and housing. The operator is whoever runs the publication, and the words we and us refer to the operator.
Visit logs
When a guide on flood recovery or choosing a charity is requested, the server records the event in a routine log. That record may hold an IP address, a timestamp, the address of the page requested, the browser and device in use, and the previous page that led the visitor here. These records help us keep the site available, investigate errors and abuse, and see in broad terms which topics readers need most.
Cookies and similar technology
Emergencyfloor may place small files or other browser storage on your device. Some keep pages working as intended. Others, where enabled, count audiences, remember a preference, support advertising, or note that a visitor arrived through a link to a provider so that affiliate attribution works. A cookie set by an outside party is governed by that party’s own practices.
Controls in your browser
Your browser settings let you refuse or erase cookies, open a private window, or add extensions that restrict trackers. Where your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we treat it as an opt-out request to the extent the technology we use allows. If you turn off all storage, a few features such as saved preferences may stop working.
Emails and forms
If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include. We use it to read and reply, to make corrections and to keep a record of the exchange. Readers writing about a disaster may be tempted to share very personal details. Please share only what is needed, as the inbox is not a case-management service. Your messages are never sold, and none will be quoted on the site unless you agree first.
Newsletters
If a newsletter or sign-up form is offered, the details you enter are used for that purpose, such as sending the updates you requested. Each message explains how to unsubscribe, and you can also ask by email to be removed.
Outside services
Operating a site like this involves providers that may include hosting and delivery networks, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as videos, maps or donation widgets run by others. They can receive technical data about your visit so their service works. Anything you give to a charity or relief body after following a link is handled by that body, not by Emergencyfloor, and its notices apply instead of this one.
Retention
Raw visit logs are held only for a short operational window before they are erased or condensed into totals that identify nobody. Emails stay while they are useful for replying, correcting an article or meeting a legal duty, and are deleted once that need ends.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to some uses or withdraw consent given earlier. To make a request, email [email protected] and say what you would like. We may need to confirm your identity first and will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
Emergencyfloor is written for adults who give, plan and rebuild, and it is not aimed at anyone under 13. Personal details from young children are not sought on purpose. A parent or guardian who finds that a child emailed us can write to the address above and the message will be deleted.
Security
Protection here means encrypted connections to the site and a restricted inbox that few people can open. Even so, nothing sent across the internet can be made perfectly safe, which is one more reason to keep sensitive disaster paperwork out of email.
International transfers
Some of the hosting, analytics or advertising providers behind the site may handle data on servers abroad, under laws that are not the same as your own. By continuing to read, you accept that technical data about your visit can cross borders in this way.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when our practices, the services we use or legal requirements shift. The effective date above marks the current version, and continuing to read Emergencyfloor after a change means the updated version applies to you.
